Stephanie Mathis
Co-Senior Pastor
Pastor Stephanie Ahn Mathis was born on the East Coast by South Korean immigrants and raised in Texas. She has served in urban settings, colleges, non-profits, overseas, teaching spiritual formation and social change, multiethnic ministries, and advocacy. She is passionate about communicating the wholeness of God's good story to promote shalom (wholeness, totality), trauma healing, repair, and liberation for all people, in systems, and Creation. She deeply cares about racial and gender justice reflected as a prophetic witness in our broken world. She loves listening to people's stories and finding ways to make longer tables to include more people to reflect the many-colored kin-dom of God. She adores her children and husband, quiet mornings with Jesus, art, kitchen dancing, and is a loud laugher.
Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) degree in Biblical Justice + Social Ethics from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a degree English/Pre-Law with a focus in African-American Literature from University of Texas; Ordained in Word and Service (specialization in spiritual formation and biblical justice) from the Evangelical Covenant Church.
