Lois Ryoujean Yoon
Minister, Writer, Storyteller
I was born in San Jose and grew up in the Netherlands and South Korea, went to high school in Michigan, and graduated from Michigan State University where I met my wonderful husband. I grew up with being utterly confused about God, about myself, and about the world as I moved around trying to learn how to live in a constant changing world. I found myself within an Asian or Asian-American church trying to somewhat find out who God is and find clarity of who I am. I served in leadership roles ever since Christ came and found me in my rebellion in my college years and it has been a wild adventure for around 20 years in ministry. I find myself either wanting to share stories of something pretty funny or something heavily saddening on my heart. So contrasting right? But maybe that’s what life is, about the tension of such contrasting things like joy & sorrow, eternal & the immediate, half full or half empty, the already but not yet…etc.
I am thankful God has given me the privilege to share my stories as a wife, mother, a female in ministry, and a follower of Christ. Hoping that this all will point to an anthem of God’s Grace as he sustains us and brings us home!
