Julie Yeeun Kim

Preacher, Teacher, Worship Leader

Julie Yeeun Kim is a Korean American preacher, teacher, and worship leader. She is presently a PhD student at UPenn studying literature, Asian American experience, and the role of the Church in identity and community formations.

Previously, she taught Asian American Studies at CSU Long Beach in Long Beach, CA. She has her MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary where she developed a specialized interest in practices of Christian worship and Asian American ministry. These interests were further cultivated through her work as a liturgist and worship designer at the Fuller Chapel and as a fellow at Fuller’s Center for Asian American Theology and Ministry.

Raised in Los Angeles as a undocumented immigrant, Julie finds deep joy in drawing from the biblical themes of exile, promise, liminality, and mobility, especially as they illuminate Jesus’ mission as a fulfiller of Scripture. Having begun ministry as a musical worship leader, Julie approaches preaching and worship as one interconnected whole and through the lens of formation for life-long discipleship.
