Irene Eng Wong

Minister, Executive Director

Rev. Irene Wong has been the Executive Director of AMIS Atlanta, a ministry of friendship and hospitality with international students in the metro Atlanta area since 2017 and is a PC(USA) minister. Irene is an American of Chinese descent. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she grew up in Queens, New York City and graduated from Brown University with a degree in East Asian Studies. After college, Irene served as a campus staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for 10 years, mainly in New England and Atlanta.


Irene graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with her M.Div. and was a Ministry Director at the Atlanta Taiwanese Presbyterian Church for three years. After her second child was born, Irene stepped away from full-time ministry and joined North Avenue Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, was ordained, and it is where she is still active. In 2023-2024, Irene was a part-time interim associate pastor at North Avenue Presbyterian Church. Since 2021, Irene has been the organizer of the Asian American Christian Network of Atlanta (AACNA). Irene enjoys spending time with her three teenage daughters and her husband, William.
